crane operator

(portugal)
I have been working in supply boats for the last 10 years. Im now willing to move for oil rigs. I Finished one month ago the course for crane operator, stage 1. My doubt is:
Is it possible to start in a oil rig as a crane operator on your first time in a oil rig, or do I have to start in a lower level? Is it to dificult to find a job as crane operator?

Rig Crane Operators
by Richard Marshall
(Stoke on Trent)
I am interested in gaining work as a crane operator and/or a slinger signaler, rigger on oil rigs. what is the best way to gain such employment a who can i contact about it?
Answer If you have experience then you need to contact the various drilling companies, make sure you include course and certificate details. Go to RigZone also and see what adverts are about. If you have no experience then best try and get some course under your belt, and apply for job as rousta bout or roughneck with drilling companies

Would be interested in working in the oil rig industry. Have been working in both the UK and Ireland as a Tower Crane Driver but have recently been made redundant due to no work in Ireland - where I now live.
