Is there such a job ? I have an extensive technical background mainly in machining metal, 12 years to be exact. An additional 7 years in the drawing office as Technical Manager to draughtsman
desighning heavy duty equipment for a hot rolling mill. I want to put my experties into offshore oil. I want to know is it possible to do this with my background.

SHORT ANSWER
No! maybe opportunity was trainee rig mechanic, but draftsmen in short supply on rig construction projects
