Rig warehousemanAbout the Rig Warehouseman The Rig warehouseman are is an essential part of the offshore oil rig and good rig-warehouseman are hard to find. It’s a lot more than picking items off the shelf as the job description shows The warehouseman or storeman reports to the Rig Site Manager or OIM/Captain and works with and supervises the Assistant Materialsman The main function is the supervision of all materials control. Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, excellent team working and organizational skills. Must have excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to diplomatically handle confrontation. Be totally familiar with the requirements of the company Quality Management System. About the Rig Warehouseman Roles and Responsibities Ensure that operations relevant to the materials department are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the drilling program requirements and directives from the Site Manager and OIM/Captain. Monitor all warehouse stock levels of critical items. Monitor, and control all materials received, consumed and returned. Monitor equipment received to ensure compliance with original materials requisitions (MR’s). Prepare and monitor all outgoing and check all incoming manifests against items dispatched or received by either offshore supply boat (OSV) or helicopter Co-ordinate all equipment transfers for contractor, client and sub contractors. Conduct cyclic stock check audits and annual physical inventory. Plan and provide Deck Supervisor with relevant instructions for current and forthcoming materials operations. Ensure instructions given are fully complied with by all personnel involved in the task. Ensure cleanliness and housekeeping of warehouse area is maintained at a suitable standard. Monitor equipment and store quality, and required preservation Ensure all relevant safety procedures and practices are adhered to during warehouse operations. Attend and monitor safety meetings including pre-tour / task meetings if required. Report any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations to Captain or Site Manager. Maintain accurate warehouse records of goods received, consumed and dispatched. Maintain and update computer based warehouse records. As a note experience with various computer based management systems is essential Prepare and issue warehouse reports as directed. Monitor and process all materials requisitions. Monitor and maintain a current rig and client equipment inventory. Maintain constant liaison with the company shore based purchasing personnel.
